insider report on cumsa meeting 17/3/07

And so it was at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon that the nine undergraduate members of the newly formed 07/08 CUMSA committee gathered for the first time as a complete entity - no longer missing a crucial man, as the role of publicity (read: saigang) had finally been appointed. It was really quite a meeting - an almost perfect one in fact, spearheaded by our president - with discussion, witty raillery and quality nibbles.

I lie.

At 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, 7 members of the now complete committee met for their maiden meeting as a whole to confabulate about the crucial issues affecting our belovèd association.

It was only at 6:27 pm that Chief Hor and Mr. Koh decided to stroll into the meeting room - fashionably late, one might say, but making note of the fact that most of us had turned up from tennis and were dressed in naught but shorts and t-shirts and that it wasn't really an event per se, I think it is fair to say that they were simply just late and they subsequently both lost 10 CUMSA points for tardiness.

this Koh, the better one

Items shared during the meeting included (amongst many others) thoughts about the garden party, picnic plans, the possibility of deifying Xianjie for his wonderful services to CUMSA at the sports brunch, Shireen informing us she was going to "visit Purvis" when she got back, lurid gossip and the key issue of the night - "how best to care for your Raffles shirt so that it does not fade" (answer: only wear it when you go to sleep). We concluded with the (now customary) "Ode to Kenny" and skipped off happily to make use of our 10% discount at Jinling like all good members should.

But there was one problem we were unable to find a satisfactory solution to:

Is it really meant to be "Hand Brand"?
