CAUSEWAY CALL

All good things must come to an end. The AGM is approaching and the light is now visible at the end of the CUMSA tunnel for all but one of the Terrific Ten - your darling Pub. Sec still has Causeway to work on.

It's progressing along nicely, (very nicely in fact, but you will hear more at the AGM...) and articles are starting to come in but the whispers in the wind tell me that there would be more but a few of you are still hesitant about what you ought to contribute, so I thought I'd try and give you a better idea.

Our plan for Causeway this year is to be a manifestation of society life - something that embodies the spirit of all the members: their creativity, interests, activities and achievements.

I'm not specifically looking for a long essay on what your opinions on the development of Singaporean culture (though I would be very happy if someone were to write about something like that... *wink/nudge/hint*) but anything that has been a part of your life in Cambridge - groups you've been a part of, new experiences, likes/dislikes about anything, holidays, the beauty of your favourite sport, etc.

But it doesn't all have to be about Cambridge - its about our members contributions too - write about anything that has caught your eye and you think others might want to know about, that hot new tv show everyone's talking about (xoxo), a new band or artist you've discovered, some new discovery that you're really interested in - fact is, if you've got a passion for something - someone else probably will too and maybe they just don't know it yet.

Doesn't even have to be in writing - if your interest is photography and you've had a chance to capture some of the gorgeous scenes we are privvy to in Cambridge then send them in; if you've written a poem, or a short story, or a comedy sketch or even a play and would like to share it with others - just click send. Length is not an issue, we can always put in an excerpt and give a link for others to read more if they liked what they read!

And of course, if you've thought of something fab that I haven't mentioned just e-mail me an idea and I'll let you know if it's suitable - creativity is a wonderful gift.

We want this to be something that you will really enjoy reading and keeping so I hope this sparks a few of you off - the deadline is not till the end of term - but remember, hesitation is procrastination...
